Need For counselling
Dr. Roma Pradhan emphasises on the importance of career guidance
since the number of careers in the country and all over the world has increased
drastically. Due to this, the confusion is more.
Even though Dr. Roma’s counselling abilities were at a school level
initially, she realised that it should not stop there. There are children all over the
country who need guidance, and she wishes to help as much as possible, and more!
A student, a teenager may not be able to make the decision on what
career to choose and know what he or she wishes to do for the next two decades of their
life. This is where career guidance comes into play. Counsellors come in and help them
understand themselves and their aspirations. Without guidance, there are so many
students who love something but pursue something completely different. This often leads
to depression, anxiety, and even in extreme cases, suicides.
